| Kids club announces a performing arts holiday program |
|
Sunflower kids club will be holding a one week holiday program in performing arts for kids aged 6-12, at Logos Christian School, culminating into a concert to be staged at The Sarakasi Dome at the end of the program.
Started in 2004, Sunflower kids club is a program for kids aged 6-12 years that helps in nurturing their talents in the performing arts of music, dance, drama and acrobatics. The bible-based club is a project of Balozi Productions Ltd, an events management and marketing company. The club runs concurrently with the school program, and gives the kids an opportunity to ‘discover and develop’ their talents and special gifts in different ways; and also provides them with the ‘perfect exposure’ to perform on a professional stage. The holiday program is like a ‘crash program’ for those kids who did not participate in the regular program; and will have the kids who participate join those who were in for the Saturday program for a concert to showcase what they have been learning. Sunflower kids club members meet every Saturday at the Logos Christian School on Kolobot Drive, off Arboretum Drive; from 9am to 1pm, where they are trained in music drama, dance and acrobatics by five trainers who are all professionals. Auditions are carried out every beginning of term to admit kids; and kids pay a fee of Sh5000 per term, which runs fro 15 weeks; and an annual registration fee of Sh1000. Registration for the holiday program is open until the first day of the program at Sh2500 per child; and the tickets for the concert are available at Sh400 for adults and Sh300 for kids.
